The Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band that formed in 1992 in Cwmaman, Wales. Stereophonics - Concerts and Tours

Throughout 1998 and 1999, Stereophonics toured in Europe, Australia and the US. On 12 June 1998, Stereophonics played to over 10,000 spectators in the grounds of Cardiff Castle in Wales. Footage of the concert was released on VHS and DVD, titled Live at Cardiff Castle. Towards the end of 2003, Stereophonics did a sold-out tour of the UK, ending with a Christmas show at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, supported by Feeder and Ocean Colour Scene. The group took a break after their 2003–2004 world tour, which included a set at the Manchester Move Festival in July 2004. On 2 July 2005, the group appeared at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, London, playing to their biggest audience yet. On 5 June 2010, Stereophonics played the first-ever gig at the Cardiff City Stadium. The concert, known as Summer in the City was played to a sold-out audience of 30,000.

Stereophonics - Keep Calm and Carry On


Stereophonics's seventh album is titled "Keep Calm and Carry On" and was released on 16 November 2009. They decided on this name after seeing a poster in The White Horse pub in Richmond where they spent a lot of time whilst recording the album. The album's debut single was "Innocent". The second single from the album, "Could You Be The One?", was released on 15 February 2010. The band embarked on a seven-date tour to support the new album in March 2010 playing at Aberdeen, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and London. with support from Glasgow band Hip Parade.

Achievement:

The album debuted at number 11 with sales of 42,771 on the UK Albums Chart, the lowest position for a studio album released by Stereophonics.

Stereophonics - Appearance in Festivals and sports

Stereophonics are regulars at British summer festivals. Most recently they have played at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2004 and 2009 and are scheduled to appear at V in 2010 as well as T in the Park having already played there in 2008. They also appeared at the Oxegen Festival in the Republic of Ireland in July 2010.

On 8 December 2009, the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games announced the line up for performers for the nightly Victory Ceremonies. These ceremonies included 30 minutes of entertainment from the evening's host province/territory, 30 minutes of medal presentations, and a one hour performance by a musical talent. Stereophonics performed their song "I Got Your Number" at this event on 20 February - Yukon Night.

Stereophonics - Compilation Album


Introduction:

"Decade in the Sun: The Best of Stereophonics" is a compilation album of greatest hits by Stereophonics. The album is available in 20-track edition, 40-track 2CD Deluxe edition and DVD edition containing all the band's music videos, best live performances and some extra footage.

Stereophonics - Pull the Pin


Introduction:

"Pull the Pin" is the sixth studio album by Stereophonics, released in the UK on 15 October 2007. A Stereophonics newsletter released the "Pull the Pin" album artwork to subscribers. The cover was also shown to MySpace users that had added the band in a bulletin. The taster track "Bank Holiday Monday" had its world premier on Radio 1's Chris Moyles Show on Tuesday 1 May 2007 and was made available for digital download on Monday 28 May 2007 from online retailers.

Stereophonics - Live Album


Introduction:

Stereophonics first live album is "Live from Dakota". It is a 2-disc compilation featuring 20 tracks spanning the first five of the band's albums and capturing the best of their 2005 world tour. Rather than being a recording of single show, every night of the tour was recorded and the band picked out the best version of each song individually. It the UK, it was released on V2, whereas the American release it was released on Vox Populi Records, the band's own imprint label.

Stereophonics' album reached number one in the UK, selling over 100,000 copies in its first week of release. It was the 37th biggest selling album of 2005 in the UK with over 450,000 copies sold. The first single, "Dakota", was reached number one in the sales chart and steadily gained ground on U.S. "Superman" single, reached No: 13 in the singles chart.

Sterephonics - You Gotta Go There to Come Back


Introduction:

Stereophonics have released seven studio albums and their fourth album is "You Gotta Go There to Come Back" released on V2 in 2003. The album shows a newly found maturity compared to the brazenness of the previous three. After this mature and soulful album they returned to the sound of their previous albums with their next album. The title can also be explained by this statement: they had to go here, and record this album, to come back and return to their old sound. This album is the only Stereophonics record which features both Stuart Cable and Javier Weyler.

Stereophonics - J.E.E.P.


Introduction:

"Just Enough Education to Perform", also known by its acronym J.E.E.P., is the third studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics. It was Released on 17 April 2001. Album includes three top-ten singles in the form of "Mr. Writer", "Have a Nice Day" and "Handbags and Gladrags.When the album was originally released it had 11 tracks, it was then re-released in 2002 to include Handbags and Gladrags after it was released as a single.

On its initial release in 2001, J.E.E.P. reached No: 1 in the UK charts where it stayed for two weeks, it topped the charts for another two weeks in the second week of January 2002, nine months after its initial release. The album then went on to re-enter the charts several times: it peaked at No: 27 during June 2002, No:37 in July 2003 and No: 34 in August 2003, until finally disappearing from the top 100. In 2001 J.E.E.P. was the 4th biggest selling album in the UK, and in 2002 it was the 24th biggest selling album of Stereophonics in the UK, as well as being the 39th biggest selling album of the decade. It went on to be certified 5x platinum in the UK.

Stereophonics - Performance and Cocktails

Introduction:

"Performance and Cocktails" is Stereophonics's second album. It was released by V2 on March 8, 1999. The name 'Performance and Cocktails' comes from lyrics in the first song of the album 'Roll Up and Shine'. All three members of the band were given equal credit for writing all the songs on this album. It was announced on the Stereophonics's Facebook that the album will be re-released as a deluxe and super-deluxe. The Deluxe Edition will feature 25 songs and the Super-deluxe version will feature 38 songs. It will be released on the 18th of October 2010.

Stereophonics - Word Gets Around

Introduction:

In August 1997, Stereophonics released their first studio album, "Word Gets Around". Much of the album is written about everyday life in Cwmaman. The deluxe and super-deluxe edition will be released on the 18th of October. This ,as well as the track listings, was announced on the Stereophonics Facebook page on the 24th of August 2010

Sterephonics - Introduction

The Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band that formed in 1992 in Cwmaman, Wales. The band currently comprises lead vocalist and guitarist "Kelly Jones", bassist and backing vocalist "Richard Jones", drummer "Javier Weyler", guitarist and backing vocalist "Adam Zindaxni" and touring member "Tony Kirkham", the group having originally also included the late Stuart Cable on drums. Kelly Jones, Richard Jones and Stuart Cable began writing and performing music in working men's clubs together in 1992 as a teenage cover band known as 'Tragic Love Company'. The band later changed their name to "The Stereophonics", named after the manufacturer of a record player that had belonged to Cable's father. In May 1996, they were the first artists to be signed to newly formed record label V2, created by Richard Branson. Upon signing, they dropped "The" from their name and simply became "Stereophonics".
